1. What Citation Checks is

Citation Checks (citationchecks.com) provides a free diagnostic tool that runs a set of realistic search queries against multiple large language model (LLM) platforms — currently ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Grok — and reports whether a submitted business appears as a citation or recommendation in the platforms' responses. We also offer a paid AI Visibility Report for a flat fee, described on the homepage. The paid report is generated automatically by the same system; no part of it is human-written.

2. Use of the check

• Where a free check is offered, it is subject to reasonable rate limits (one check per email per 7 days by default, and a global daily capacity). It is not offered at present; the report is the product.
• You may only run checks against businesses you own, operate, or represent, or that are publicly visible on the open web.
• Automated submissions, scraping, and abuse of the check endpoint are prohibited.
• We reserve the right to decline, delay, or throttle any submission at our discretion.

3. Accuracy and disclaimers

LLM outputs are non-deterministic: the wording of an answer, and the sources behind it, vary between runs. Whether a particular business is named is considerably more stable than the wording, which is why we sample repeatedly and publish a confidence range rather than a single observation — see our methodology page. Your result remains a point-in-time measurement, not a guarantee of what any AI platform will say next hour, next week, or to any particular user. We make no representations that a specific result will be reproducible.

We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or complete. Citation Checks is provided "as is" and "as available."

4. Paid audits

The full AI Visibility Report is a paid product with a flat fee shown on the homepage and results page. Purchases are billed at time of order. It is delivered automatically, in a single stage. Most reports finish within the hour, but a slow or unavailable AI provider can extend that, and we do not guarantee a delivery time. We email you as soon as it is ready. Every report carries a simple 30-day refund policy, and it is unconditional: if you are not satisfied with the report for any reason, ask within 30 days and we will refund you in full. You do not need to justify the request, and we do not require the report to have met any particular threshold. We deliberately make no promise that acting on the report will improve your visibility on any AI platform — our methodology page explains why nobody can honestly promise that.

5. Emails

When you submit a check we email your results and may occasionally email you product updates or tips relevant to AI visibility. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by replying to any email from us. Transactional emails (delivering results you requested) are exempt.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Citation Checks' total liability arising out of or related to your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or, if no payment was made, to $100.
